Nick Cannon announces the birth of his 9th baby and reveals his dazzling name – SheKnows

Nick Cannon is a dad…again! The Wild ‘N Out The host welcomed her ninth baby and first with model LaNisha Cole yesterday with a sweet photo from the hospital room. He wrote about the “celebratory and jubilee moment” in a lengthy Instagram caption, in which he revealed his dazzling new daughter’s name.

“Introducing ONYX ICE COLE CANNON…” the “Eyes Closed” singer wrote. “Once again today I am in awe of the divine feminine! God has given me and @MissLanishaCole the privilege to welcome an angel here on earth. I swear to protect, provide, guide and love this child to the best of my ability. At this time of celebration and jubilee, I wish to cut out all low vibrational frequencies and rejoice only with the highest class of civilization that is truly aligned with our purpose. here in this dimension.

Cole also shared a photo of his baby, simply writing, “Onyx Ice Cole Cannon 💖 9/14/22.”

What a beautiful name! Onyx means “black gemstone”, alluding to how Precious Cannon views his daughter. Ice, of course, is frozen water, but it’s also popular among the rap community (think: Ice Cube, Ice T, Vanilla Ice. Cole means “people’s victory”. These three strong names add up to an awesome nickname for a little girl.

Cannon has also written about all he learns from his children. “I’m learning that it’s not the limited time we have on this planet but it’s the lack of love that’s the problem,” he continued. “And I promise to love this little girl with all my heart, no matter what anyone says…I’ve given up trying to define myself for the world or society, but instead, I’m doing it. work to heal and grow in the infinite Being God ordained me to be.

The Nick Cannon Show the host has eight other children (besides Onyx) and is currently expecting two more. To recap, he shares 19-month-old daughter Powerful Queen and 5-year-old Golden “Sagon” with model Brittany Bell, who is currently pregnant with their third child together. Cannon is also the father of twins Moroccan and Monroe with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, 11; twins Zion and Zillion, 14 months, with Abby de la Rosa, who is also pregnant with their third; newborn Legendary Love with Bri Tiesi; his son Zen, who tragically died of a brain tumor at just five months old in December 2021, with Alyssa Scott; and now the little Onyx has been added to the mix.

He was very open about wanting lots of kids and explained that he was going to teach his daughter not to listen to other people’s opinions.

“I hope I can teach Onyx the same, so as not to let others shame or ridicule her with their outward opinions, because when they do, they are only projecting their own difficult experiences, their pain and their social programming about her spotless beauty,” he wrote. “As we all know, I’m not easily triggered and I’m pretty tough-skinned and I’ve always been an open book, but not everyone in my family has the same level of strength. So I pray and ask others to please project all criticism and cynicism onto ME and not onto the loving and precious mothers of my children.

Cannon also wrote a few love notes about Cole. “@MissLanishaCole is one of the most innocent, peaceful, non-confrontational souls I have ever seen, and only deserves to revel in this moment of blissful joy of motherhood,” he said. “Please give this to him. She is so loving and pure in heart. As for me, if you are really concerned during this time of spiritual warfare, my inner struggles with myself, my mental well-being and my physical health issues… Just keep praying for me and my entire family that God will grant a peace that passes all understanding. 🙏🏾❤️”

Yesterday, de la Rosa opened up about his “open relationship” with Cannon. “Being in a polyamorous relationship doesn’t mean you have low self-esteem or low self-esteem,” she said on the Lovers and Friends podcast, by PEOPLE.

“I get hypersensitive when people attack me and my motherhood,” she continued, adding, “The fact that I’m open in my relationship doesn’t change or take anything away from the type of mother I am for my children and the fullness that I am for them and the strength that I share with them.

She also said she hopes her children grow up to understand her unique relationship with Cannon.

“I’m thrilled that my kids are growing up and thinking, ‘Mom and Dad, you all did it your way and I love it,'” she said. “I hope my kids can eventually do it their own way, whatever their ability. Do it their way, not the way the world wants them to do…do it their way like mom and dad did.

As long as he stays involved – and keeps paying that child support! – who are we to judge?
