Rakesh Jhunjhunwala name appears in latest PSU bank shareholding model

The state-run Canara Bank on Thursday released its shareholding scheme for the September 2021 quarter in which the name of Indian ace investor and stock trader Rakesh Jhunjhunwala appeared in the PSU during the quarter. .

According to Canara Bank shareholder data on ESB, Jhunjhunwala, known as “Big Bull”, owns 1.60% of the capital or 2,909,7,400 shares of Canara Bank during the period July-September. He had no stake in the PSU during the June quarter.

The data further showed that insurance giant Life Insurance of India (LIC) increased its stake in the PSU to 8.83% in the September quarter, from 8.11% in the previous quarter. In addition, mutual funds (MF) also increased their stake in the bank to 3.70%, from 3.10% in June 2021.

Canara Bank shares were trading up 0.4% at ??175 per share on BSE in Thursday afternoon trades. Bank PSU stock is up around 31% this year (YTD or YTD) so far compared to an almost 25% increase in the benchmark BSE Sensex. Canara Bank shares have jumped 95% in the past year.

Jhunjhunwala invests in both his own name and that of his wife, Rekha Jhunjhunwala. He is a certified public accountant and manages the asset company Rare Enterprises. He tends to favor stocks in the financials, tech, retail and pharmaceutical sectors, to name a few. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Associates publicly owns 38 shares with a net worth of over ??23,700 crore, according to Trendlyne.
